Brian Hurley struck early on for Cork against Kerry in Killarney, capping off a fantastic counter-attack from the Rebels.
Ronan McCarthy's charges turned over possession inside their own 20-metre line and broke brilliantly with their direct kicking game before finding Hurley one-on-one. The full-forward finished the move off by sliding the ball into the net to give the Rebels a 1-5 to 0-3 advantage after 16 minutes.
The Kingdom struggled to get to grips with their opponents in this Munster SFC final but eventually did, as six unanswered points and a goal by Brian O Beaglaoich put them into a 1-12 to 1-7 half-time lead.
