Galway and Cork's indifferent form makes next Saturday's All-Ireland SHC quarter-final difficult to call, according to Jackie Tyrrell.

The Tribesmen never got going against Kilkenny in the Leinster final, while Cork trailed Joe McDonagh Cup champions Antrim in last Saturday's All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final before turning it around in the second half.

"I'd imagine they'll both be going under the radar because they're not really playing fluid hurling at the minute," the Kilkenny great said on RTÉ's The Sunday Game.

"There's question marks on both sides. You look at the Galway performance in the Leinster final, (it was) very flat and some of their key performers - Joseph Cooney, Tom Monaghan, Cathal Mannion - they're key guys and didn't perform in that game.

"So I'd expect a response from both (teams) but it's really a very tight game because there's no real form from either in their last two performances."
