Monaghan will be sitting pretty in an Ulster final after that result today.

Ulster football is so weak.......that the current All Ireland Champions are from Ulster and one of the National League finalists came from Ulster. How ridiculous is galling? Armagh will feel that the vast majority of decisions went against them today. Cavan pulled, dragged and pushed all afternoon and got away with a lot of it though Armagh were extremely poor it has to be said. The usual bigoted partitionists are out once again to badmouth the North. HS lets a lot of it through and then wonders why Ulster people have a go back.....and then censors them!!!

Great win for Cavan and not that much of a surprise, Armagh were woeful in the league and were lucky not to be relegated to Division 3 whereas Cavan were well in the hunt for promotion and beat both Meath & Monaghan who were ultimately promoted. Cavan still a work in progress but that win today will give them a great boost and an Ulster Final appearance now a real possibility

Well played Cavan. Worthy winners on the day. Mighty individual performance by Dunne getting 9 points with 8 from play.

Well done Cavan. Best team by a long way.

The naivety of the armagh management was incredible. Playing with 7 forwards with the backline so badly exposed. I'd hate to see us play one of the big guns.

Yes, keep talking like that!

Could see Cavan making a run to the Ulster final now. Realistically they could beat Fermanagh, and then Antrim or Monaghan.
Not saying that based on today's performance, but I did state earlier in the year that I fancy Cavan to contest an Ulster final this year if they were to beat Armagh.

Winning an Ulster title could be another matter though, with Donegal, Tyrone, Derry and Down all potential opposition in the final.
But a massive step forward by the Breffini men regardless.

Surely Seanie was watching that today asking himself 'what the hell am I doing in Kildare when my own county men are after having a great win and I should be out there'.

Seanie might see more relevance in the 3-20 Kildare put past Cavan last summer.

Isn't it time to let Cavan and Seanie get on with their lives at this stage? It's getting a bit tired. He was dropped off their panel and they're focusing on youth - why bring it up just because they win a rare championship match?

Breffiniblue, after ye giving us a pasting in the league we won't be taken ye for granted we have been warned so will be ready.Be a hell of a semi final although I'd say Fermanagh and Antrim might have other ideas.Well done today Armagh have running on empty the past few years and seem on the way down so wasn't that surprised.

Well done to Cavan on their first win in Ulster in four years, they certainly had the hunger and fight and a focal point in Dunne, all they need to worry about is the next game against Fermanagh and see where it goes. As for Armagh today is a measure of where they are and it is not good. I was impressed with Armagh against Tyrone last year and yet in the next game they lose against Rosscommon. If today is a pointer it looks like a few years of pain ahead for Armagh.

Armagh aren't as bad as today's showing. I thought Joe Brolly crossed a line in his criticism.

I have to say I thaught todays game was a big step up on past ulster championship matches in terms of quality.
to hear guys like spillane and brolly and o rourke saying negative tactics,I for one thaught it was a far more open game then most ulster ties over the last few years.great performance from the full forward for cavan, seemed to struggle for confidence until the point that hit the post went over and he took off from there.cavan certainly have improved and that win along with the under 21 success will do wonders for football in the county and I would say they will fancy there chances against fermanagh the next day.

Congratulations Cavan.

Management today have baffled everyone in the county, Grimley acknowledged in his post match interview that a sweeper was needed but he didn't want to use it. Says it all really.

I'd like to hear from the Armagh folks, Specifically on what they feel is holding the team back at present.
I reckon Armagh have enough good players, but seem to be lost tactically.

Well on viewing today game i would like to congratulate Cavan. But there tactics and dirty strokes are disgusting and they done to Armagh in the first half what they done to monaghan in the league they targeted Clarke and he got a yellow card Cavan where hoping for red. There backs dropped knees on his chest shame thing they done on McManus that night in Breffni.
If Monaghan are playing Cavan in the ulster semi final i would appeal to the Monaghan management to employ the mayo tactics and highlight this nasty but successful ploy cavan adopt. Monaghan should talk to the media and get the referee's attention in the build up to the match to highlight this disgusting part of cavan play.

tough being an armagh supporter watching that today, grimley was too stubborn to change tactics because he wanted to play 'attacking' football, ridiculous.. everyone in the crowd could see a sweeper was needed, he wouldnt change it.. dont even know what to say, yes cavan stopped armagh attacks from starting by fouling, totally expected though.. duno where to go from here, another short summer i doubt then please get mcentee in..
