What was the price of a ticket last night to get in to Wexford Park? I thought with the weather and all, more would have went. Maybe it was too expensive. bennybunny (Cork) - Posts: 3917 - 09/06/2013 09:58:42 1402114 Link 0 |

Did the commentator say Limerick only won 1 game in 17 Munster championship matches? It's incredible they come out in such big numbers with such a poor record. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 09/06/2013 16:25:25 1402272 Link 0 |

i think something has to be done regarding prices otherwise attendances will continue to drop, 60 euro last week for the wife and 2 kids in to croker and that's before transport and food and a few pints before the match, in recessionary times i think thats a little too steep for a leinster quarter final and as someone who would love to get to every match trying to fund that for the semi vs dublin will be a struggle. the gaa should look to lower the prices or perhaps look to staging the games in provincial venues, 15 euro for a terrace ticket in portlaois would have been alot more affordable and near a full house which would make for a better atmosphere kildareman_dave (Kildare) - Posts: 111 - 10/06/2013 13:10:50 1402972 Link 0 |

it's still 15 euro for children's tickets in croker on the hill which still works out at 60 quid. i understand what you're saying but i think it would be handier for me and alot more people if some games were brought to provincial venues as it would cut costs and make for a better atmosphere, the offaly vs kildare game in portlaois last year had a great atmosphere and was almost a full house, in croker last week for the kildare game croker was practically empty and atmosphere was non existent. i know alot of people in kildare who didnt go to the offaly game because they were saving money for the semi final and could not genuinely afford to go to the 2 games, the gaa need to look into cutting prices a little kildareman_dave (Kildare) - Posts: 111 - 10/06/2013 13:34:41 1403004 Link 0 |

in all fairness though you said you went to the pub before the match,if you saved the money from having a few pints it would pay for the tickets, its probably easy for me to say as i dont bring kids but i dont go the pub saves alot of money i find hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 10/06/2013 13:38:02 1403015 Link 0 |

If you check it out Kildare man, kids tickets only a fiver, clubs can do group deals and get kids in for €3, with adults €25, for 2 matches. Same price as Portlaoise last year! Plus last year, how was it a great atmosphere? Twas like shooting fish in a barrell! Hopefully (Offaly) - Posts: 143 - 10/06/2013 13:57:43 1403047 Link 0 |

Trust me limerick have a very strong following. Every county has a fickle following in the in the months of February and March. Championship is Championship. There is a big tradition between Limerick and Tipperary. Those games always draw a crowd. Limerick always travel in big numbers to championship games. Hill as a complete neutral i think you are being disingenuous about the size of Limerick hurling support. In my view Limerick have big support for the little success they have had. They always to seem to come out in big numbers. It is their footballers i feel sorry for. Even when they were going well the Limerick public did not really take to football apart from the football heartlands back in West Limerick. I have been at a few Limerick matches 1996 to say 2002 in hurling and they had huge crowds. I would go as far and say they are proportionately on balance the best support hurling team in the country followed. I am not just talking numbers here but support through both good and bad times. kiloughter (Galway) - Posts: 1996 - 11/06/2013 12:40:36 1403996 Link 0 |
