Few beers on me lads but I've said that before, Ulsterman do you not feel for Mayo? They've been in more finals than anyone else (apart from kerry)in the last 25 years and still haven't won one. I'm Only human and I feel for them today.

I do clondalkin and it must be very tough on many of the Mayo players who have now lost a few BUT even more so for their fans. However you have to give Mayo great credit for coming back today and still able to compete in more finals after their sore results. They have lost the bottlers tag that's for sure.

By the way I would love to see Antrim come good someday wether it be football or hurling. Come on could you imagine Ulsterman Dublin v a good Antrim team in a big qualifier football game in the new Casement Park the place would be rocking all the Dubs drinking with the Antrim boys on the Falls road before and after the game that would be some occasion.

You had to feel sorry for Mayo for the one that got away against Meath in the 90s and for the terrible hammerings handed out by Kerry in 04 and 06, but I don't feel one bit sorry for them today. The ref leaned to them, they didn't collapse; they just weren't good enough:

First few mins: player from each team yellow-carded - for a Mayo foul(!)
16 mins: Mayo 2nd score from free awarded for a dive
18 mins: Donegal jersey tested, no free given
20 mins: Mayo free for a legitimate dispossession by Donegal
21 mins: free for Donegal not given. Donegal player passes ball under pressure from foul, and:
22 mins: resultant free to Mayo for "over-carrying"
27 mins: another Mayo pointed free awarded for a dive
31 mins: another Mayo close-in scoring free awarded for nothing - even the RTÉ commentator said "soft" and "50:50 ball"
34 mins - even worse than usual off-the-ball tackle by Mayo
37 mins: Mayo another soft free & score, described by RTÉ as a "lucky" free
49 mins: Mayo player does high tackle, no free awarded
49 mins: Donegal player does high tackle, free awarded
50 mins: soft free to Mayo
70 mins: O'Shea (described as man who could win it for Mayo) trips over himself in sight of goal
71 mins: The other O'Shea commits a silly foul

Sum up: Not a dirty game, but Mayo cynical and limited throughout (e.g., continual Mayo obstruction after the player has released the ball indulged by
referee; neck-high tackles, shoulders into stomach etc), poor shot selection, poor composure and kept in it by a series of sympathetic decisions by the ref. in the second and third quarters.

Donegal far ahead of them, even more than the comfortable scoreline suggests.

Delighted for Donegal after Mayo's cynicism and cheating in the semi. A well deserved win and beat playing against the ref as well.

Look yes of course have to feel sorry for mayo, bit like Wexford in Leinster should have won it last year and should have beat dub this year, better team on play both occasion but didn't have metal to see it out, same with mayo in 96 this thing that they were unlucky that day is nonsense,Meath didn't perform day one and mayo didn't have metal to win, replay was won by better team, same as all other finals since including today, but of course your heart goes out to their fans, but to paddyogall this in your words was a beautiful day, hahahaha

Pathetic post essmac. Can't believe you went to all that bother when you all you did is include the incidents you feel Donegal were agrieved. 'History is written by the winners', is it? Seriously, was some internal memo issued to Ulster counties to try and tar Mayo with this cynical label? Donegal dabbled with plenty of the dark arts today. How many fouls did Eamon McGee commit after he was booked? What happened in the incident he was involved when a Mayo player was on the ground? How many times were Mayo frees moved up for obstruction by Donegal players? Why were no cards given when this was done repeatedly?

Every Mayo free had the usual trash talking and encroachment from Donegal backs, three or four of them usually. They constantly surrounded the referee. Didn't need too much persuasion to hit the turf towards the end either. They might have changed their tactics when it comes to getting men forward but the rest has not changed. The spirit of Brian "Wolverine" Dawkins was alive and well today.

Donegal deserved to win, they were the better team but Mayo deserve better than you coming on here and kicking them when they are down and talking about Donegal like butter wouldn't melt in their mouth.

Dún na nGall were as good as they had to be today. They were by far the better team and played the whole game in third gear. Maigh Eo had a very easy path to the final with only one difficult game against an underperforming Dubs team. I think they have been overhyped all year and their cycnical fouling, diving and 'trying to beat the rule book' this year was very disappointing.

Does anyone know what happened about the dressing rooms. Apparently Maigh Eo took Dún na nGall's dressing room. I am not sure if this is true though. Can anyone enlighten me.

Moomoo - nonsense alert
One thing that is consistent is that Ulsterman and most Tyrone posters do not recognise the 6 counties as an entity so undoubtedly most will enjoy Donegals success.

Congrats Donegal. They did it the hard way beating Tyrone Kerry and cork to win Sam. Mayo had a handy run in which came against them in the final.

Will Donegal all ireland considerd to be soft as they beat Mayo. as Kerry 04 and 06 Sams were??????????????????????????????/.

Indeed Tyronetim the usual supects who spent the past few years ridiculing Donegal are now trying to stop those Ulster Gaels who defended them from suppporting them today; you couldn't make some of these partitionist revisionists up even if you tried.
