Should get at least 6 months suspension i reckon. There is no room in the game for that kind of behaviour

I hope for Clancy's sake that he checked himself into hospital after the game. He has a reputation for being one of the hardest players in the game but a hit like that needs medical treatment. The fact that he played on afterwards....wow....what a hero

Will this red card be overturned in time for Down to play Wexford?

Somebody said here last week that Laois invented diving in 2003. Think Clancy made a meal of it but Gordon was sent off for use of the head (ie a butt) -a total no-no. Funny how this was glossed over last night.

I would take the 6 or 4 week ban Gordon is going to automatically get and hand it straight to Clancy - it's exactly what he deserves.

There'll be no problem here. He'll get the ban completely rescinded. And obviously, this is appropriate cos he did nothing of note.

If he did nothing wrong then how come the laois lad was left rolling around on the ground in agony?

As Ross Carr said a quick drink of water and he was back on his feet, Clancy should be ashamed of himself and the ref and the linesman need to take a long hard look at themselves. Referees are destroying our game

Big Dan should get off, That wasn't even a black card never mind a yellow and was never a red. Fahy over reacted. Down have enough men out without losing Dan too.

Not sure where Dublinmeath was sitting, but definately was not watching the game if believes there was a butt. Clancy squared up and in fact he pushed his head to Dan's, however did not butt. Linesman had clear view of this, and the subsequent nudge shoulder to shoulder which had Clancy rolling around. In my opinion he is a disgrace to the game, and his behaviour belongs on the soccer pitches. As the Sunday Game pointed out, the villan was Clancy, and I hope that when the CCCC ask Fahy to review his decision, apart from recinding the unjust and unfair red on Dan, he will see fit to impose the rules and issue a yellow to Clancy. We can beat Wexford, but it would be much harder without the inspirational Dan Gordon.

Its Laois!
What else would you expect only huge amounts of whinging!

Anyway love the way the Sunday Game quashed the whole thing. If it was a Dublin man Nicky Brennan would have been asked to intervene!

Paddy Power is offering odds of 2/1 for Clancy to get an Oscar
Ladbrokes have suspended betting on him winning olympic gold for diving.
In all seriousness though, Clancy was hit by a bullet from an unseen assassin who was kneeling on a grassy knoll.
Dan Gordon tried to shoulder him out of the way so he take the bullet for him.

Next time you see the incident watch Goron's head - not his shoulder or elbow! Clancy overreacted but Gordon went to butt him - stupid thing to do and given the way GAA refs are giving yellows seemingly based on 'soccer' fouls then it was no surprise to see a red produced.
