John Galvin.....Snubbed Again

How much more hurt can this man take.

He has been nominated on so many occasions.

And had 3 outstanding games for limerick this year, surely this man has given more to Gaelic football than most other players in his position!

Aidan Walsh had a poor year besides the All Ireland Final, and Paddy Keenan probably deserved this award.

He is shoving on in years and you would wonder will he ever get what he deserves!

Its a disgrace, he was miles the best midfielder in my view. While Walsh was good in the AI final, he did not necessarily have a great year. Keenan, I don't have any problem with but John Galvin should have got the other All Star for midfield. He was unbelievable this season-a real shame that he has not got some recognition for his talent.

Snubbed is a bit harsh. It's always going to be harder to gat an all-star in midfield than in any other position. The selectors always have the option to re-jig the backs and forwards to suit their selections. I agree he deserves one over his career but was always going to a tough ask this year.

I think ye are over-reacting, sure Larry Reilly never won an allstar or Anthony Forde or Jason Reilly and others and they nearly won loads of games too, the same as Galvin.

Limerick just have to go and beat someone and win Munster.

Its harsh but true.

I have tendancy to agree with you, a stand out player, but if you don't get to show your wares in Croker its like your not taken as seriously.

Division 3 final, but I hear what your saying.
Good player though, did well in all matches.

Galvin unlucky to miss out, Keenan richly deserves his only some Meath posters for some reason seem to have issue with it.
Fabulous player. He'd grace any stage.

The All Stars always cause debate, cant please everyone..

galvin deserved an all star without a doubt...he and keenan were miles ahead of all other midfielders...although i like the look of MD mcauley

Sam57, I have no problem with Keenan getting one and I think it is well deserved, All Stars are supposed to recognise the best players in respective positions for the year, irregardless of where matches are played and who ends up winning what and on that basis the midfield should be Keenan and Galvin, no other two gave as good as those two this year in midfield with regard to both individual performances and contributions to their team. Limerick football has not been blessed with much luck over the years and this is a further indiction of that.

Galvin instead of Keenan. I don't think Keenan deserved one, MD MacCauley or Galvin had better season.

Richieq, fair play I didnt mean that at all Meath people , some posters is what I said.
Your right about Galvin, very unlucky.

St Jude, you obviously didnt watch much of Keenan this year.

Oh I know Sam and thanks, just wanted to state my position as an avid observer of all counties and games as well as my own county, I also felt that Keenan's attitude and outlook after that unmentionable game in July was very admirable, just another feather in his cap for me.

True but lets be honest sam , All stars are 99.9% of the time are givin out for the championship performances only .. not the league

An absolute disgrace. Aidan Walsh is nowhere near as good a midfielder as John Galvin.

People are getting a bit whipped up in relation to Galvin. Lets not forget that he only played 3 games this year. He was out-standing in one (against Kerry), he started well but then disappeared for large parts of the game in another (against Cork), and most of us really have no idea how he played against Waterford. So if people think that Walsh from Cork doesn't deserve to get an all-star for one good game (i.e. final), the same could be said for Galvin.
I am obviously biased and have no doubt that Keenan deserved his all-star (he was good to excellent in all games this year, and his block in the Leinster Final should have been the stand-out piece of action for the whole year, as opposed to the shambles that came after it). I personally would've given the second all-star to McAuley, as i think he played better in more games than Walsh or Galvin.

I can't figure out how this is deemed a disgrace.the biggest disgrace is Mick Darragh McAuley not getting in. ~PHS
