Kildare are nothing special at all. Havent bet any good teams in the last few years. First decent team they come up against last season was Dublin and still couldnt beat them with an extra player. Couldnt beat tyrone in a QF either. Put it up to them in the first have but who cares about that sure good first half performances dont win games. This year Meath have played a very good team in Dublin. I dont care what anybody says but Dublin are a very good team and will prove it on Sunday when they beat Tyrone. Meath played some average teams too but 3 ten point victories in Leinster is still a good statistic. Last year Meath beat very good Limerick and Mayo teams and came close to beating the all ireland champions. And to say the Meath forwards wouldnt get near the Tyrone team is crazy. I dont remember Tyrone EVER beating us or scoring five goals against ANY team in recent times. Meath will beat a bad Kildare team easily and Tyrone will get a hiding from Dublin.

Yes we're very confident. Forgive us for thinking we can win a game. We will concede that we are in no way the best team in the country but with the right attitude and a bit of luck who knows.

Maybe we should go into every game expecting to get beaten, is that what the other 31 counties do, if so how depressing.

I particularly liked the tactics of Graham Geraghty that day in 96, he practically beat ye on his own. And then Tyrone end up crying about the Meath boys being too rough for them

I have to oppose that statment "Kildare are nothing special" YES they are! they are very special to the people of Kildare right! Look the games goina be tight on sunday we all know that but for meath fans to absoutley dismiss kildares chances think they need to take the goggles off! Kildare are not to be under estimated! It is Kildares 3rd QF in the past 3 years great achievement! Alot of other teams forget about this! Kildare are goina be well up for the game. Confidence is high with wins against Antrim, Leitrim,Derry and Monaghan. All games that Kildare won with high scores. Not saying its going to be easy far from it. Tough battle lies ahead! Kildare people are really proud of the team for getting this far. Hope they can go one step further.Meath need to take a look at the indepenent who rate kildare as one of the top 6 in Ireland! Kildare are serious opposition when they are in form. Hope they bring this serious threat on sunday and put meath to the sword!! CILL DARA ABU!!

First off, over all the posts on both Meath, Kildare & national forums, it's mainly Kildare fans who believe they have this on in the bag!
Well done on the 3 quarter finals, especially if you consider them an achievmment, however, Meath have been in 2 semis in the past 3 years & this is now also meaths 3rd quarter, you are the one who seems to have forgotten this fact.
Your reference to the independent, & yes I so read it & I'm aware of what you refer to, however, unless you are one of these people who only like to read about your own county, you will have also read that the same independent claimed Meath to be the best equipped & most likely team to challenge the top 3. This was a view shared by the 3 main gaa writers on the paper.


So if there's anyone wearing the blinkers here, it's you my friend.
I've no problem with anyone building up their own county, but please, try to at least have balance & reason to your argument rather than pure bias!

I could not agree more Jinxie. the feeling I get is that Kildare believe they can beat Meath with even their second team so I mean saying that Meath think they have it in the bag is crazy as things in the Meath camp and on the Meath forum have been reletively quiet. The whole country is against us this Sunday but hopefully this will get us going good. Kildare have a good up and coming side and potentially a great team for the next few years but all this put aside Kildare are the only side doing the talking here. Best of Luck on Sunday though hopefully it will be a cracker.

Sky high, dont dare come on here bemoaning Meath tactics. I am very proud of my counties achievements in 96 the only annoying point was the following day when like some Louth people 2 weeks ago you whinged your guts out on Liveline.
