I wonder when will Toye be back in the reckoning? If Bonner could get the head right would it worth his while for JJ to ask him back?

Saw Toye doing some light jogging and kicking at the weekend for St Michaels. I am no expert but by the looks of things I would say it won't be long before he's back in full training.

I would say get Bonner back in training with the squad and assess his attitude over the next couple of months. If nothing has changed well he can be let go easily enough without any controversy but if he's settled down and matured not only do Donegal gain a talented player but someone who always gives a 100% and there is not many in the squad at the minute you can say that about.

I would go along with that. If he's focused he'd be a good lad to have involved. It's not like we're blessed with a conveyor belt of county standard forwards. If he has to come in with a good attitude and knuckle down to business he'd be pushing for a starting place I reckon.

What about that other Glenswilly man Colin Kelly? Has he just declared himself unavailable for the county or what's the story? Good wee player.

Was at the game on Sunday. Very disappointing. Not the fact that we were beaten but the manner of the defeat was very worrying. Could have been another Cork in Croke Park type defeat only for a lucky goal late in the first half. Kildare much the sharper, fitter more purposeful team. It was just typical Donegal at its worst. Slow, laborious, no direction. We had no game plan other than lump high balls into Murphy & Mc Fadden and when this didn't work we lumped in more balls to them!! Full back line way off their men. (Although Neil McGee did little wrong and Kevin Cassidy tried hard)
I don't like criticising managers normally but our current management team have to take a serious look at themselves. Very slow to make changes, no plan B in relation to tactics. Team out on field at start of second half for a good 5-7 minutes before Kildare just standing around! We seem to have totally abandoned our traditional running game for the long ball option. It's seems like a mixture of Mickey Moran and Brian McIvor tactics done badly. Also there is way too much pressure put on the shoulders of one young player in Michael Murphy. If it keeps going the way it is he will be destroyed as a player before he even starts.
Big improvement needed next Saturday against Down. Unbelievable home support for Kildare on Sunday - we need something similar in Ballybofey get out and support the team!

Lads when are we going to wake up and smell the coffee. We are a thrid rate side that will beat the likes of laois. When it comes to second tier sides like kildare you seee what happens. For gods sake look at are ulster championship record over the past few years. Untill people open their eyes and see this we will never start to improve.

been going to donegal games for nearly 20 years and this is the worst set up ive ever seen.how can the players even respect somebody who managed naomh mhuire.they dont seem to have the interest in playin for him.ok you need the players as well but we have some good ones and you do see good managers being successfull with average teams such as lyons(offaly)97, mc hugh with cavan same year. The county board made a mess up of the appointments in the first place(the way mc guinneas was treated)and i aint from glenties.its painfull stuff to watch.WE AINT GOING ANYWHERE AND A COUPLE OF WINS ISNT GOING TO COVER UP WHAT A SHAMBLES IT IS.we are a massive county with good solid clubs so something needs to give quickly

Murphy , kavanagh ,mc gee,mc fadden ,casidy ,lacey are the only 6 players that can be sure to start, the rest are just avarage players ..
Why cant the managment take a look down the divisions ..like kerry and armagh etc they have players from each divison 1 2 3 4 playing .
There is loads of good players in d2 d3 d4 Take a look guys or the county will be going backwards instead of forwards ..

Agree completely with GAA who says that we keep the best players and look down the leagues for other options. Unfortunately, because Doherty seems to have his squad for the year, things will remain the way they are.

whats the story on the donegal team staying in a top class hotel last saturday night. being late leaving for the game sunday morning and getting caught in traffic on route to game and only arriving half hour before game, and having to have the team talk on the pitch before the game. surely its not true but believe me im aint surprise with this setup

Paddy 92 you are 100% correct. People dont want to say it but would you let someone drive your car if they never drove. John Joe will never win anything with donegal. The purpose of a manager is to get the best out of what he has got. Donegal should be going for ulster titles. Maybe not winning them but a least being in and around there. We get knocked out in the first round now most years.
