Hey Patrique, That team sure was a blast from the past. How come you didn't put Ray McElroy in the goals.I also think Rainey would be more at home at corner forward, and only one McKiernan-- Come On Cavan

Leo Turley, Liam Irwin, Colm Brown - Laois (Thank God for 2003 as heros like Mick Lalor, Hughey Emerson & Damien Delany all got one by the skin of their teeth)

Packy McGarty (not too sure about the spelling) of Leitrim in the 1950s. He was a brilliant forward on a very good Leitrim team that reached 4 Connacht finals in a row but unfortunately lost each time to Galway.
In hurling, Sean Stack from the Clare team that won two national leagues in the the 1970s but came up against the Cork 3-in-a-row team in a couple of Munster finals.

Wee John Rainey played half back for QUB and won a Railway Cup in that position with the Combined Universities. He also plyed forward, but I took the liberty of converting him.

Ray McIlroy did goals at hurling as well. I used to love Gerry Moore as a keeper as well, but my favourite was my old "bread server" Geordie Eagleson.

Hi Patrique great to see you included John Rainey a much overlooked player and part of the backbone of the great Johnnies team of the 60's and 70's. We know the flair players get a mention everytime great teams are asked for but John was a superb halfback. I think he has 11 senior county football medals which is an indication of his longevity as a first class player. His brother Brendan wasn't too shabby either.
