I havent been to half of Irelands counties but it is my ambition to one day say that I have seen them all, anyone else lucky enough to have done so?

I've done so many a time and apart from my own I'd rate Galway, Donegal, Down, Wexford and Kerry as top spots for warmth of welcome, scenery, accommodation, golf courses and things to do/see.

Cue cries from the usual suspects......................

I have also done the 32 counties, Galway Donegal and Clare were my Favourites, i didnt like the north too much. always looking over your shoulder, too much tension, although Portraine was very nice

The only two I have not been to, are Cavan and Leitrim. Now that the thread has brought the fact to my attention I will make a genuine effort to visit both as soon as possible.

I have to say that as much as I love my home county, theres not much to it as Im sure yer all aware although there are a few hidden gems like Emo court and up the Slieve Blooms is great for outdoor activities. Also the Heritage isnt far off becoming a really top golf course (its a bit new yet though)...And weve got Electric Picnic, which is the job!

Carlow also has a few hidden gems I have to say, some nice wee villages down the Barrow. In fact a nice weekend break would be to stay in Kilkenny and drive down to lovely Barrowside villages like Graiguenamanagh, Goresbridge and go into Carlow villages like Borris and down to St Mullins which is really nice. Its a lovely part of the country.

''All these highs and lows. Im looking for. All these highs and lows'' Hahahaha

Yes, the whole of the West Coast is fantastic. Wexford has some fine beeches, Waterford isn't far away. Top five Donegal, Kerry, Mayo, Galway and Cork.

Best City Galway

Best town Westport

Got to give Kilkenny a mention also. Great night out and the people are so friendly.

CORKCELT you say you were never in leitrim. Did you fly to donegal because to get to donegal from cork you would off gone through leitrim at tullaghan beside bundoran, which is the only piece of coastline leitrim has all 2.5 miles long . CHEERS

Leitrim forsam, thanks for the info. I did indeed travel by road to Bundoran but wasn't aware I had gone through part of Leitrim. Now all I need to do is get to Cavan, first I must check the map to see if I inadvertantly passed through it on any of my journeys.
