Tyrone County Final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I have to say that was one of the dirtiest Gaelic football matches i have ever seen, as for the incident where the manager of the Dromore team headbutted one of the Clonoe players, I can safely say that it is the most disgraceful thing I have ever seen in Gaelic football, there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for doing it especially the team manager doing such a despicable act, he should without a doubt be banned for life in my opinion, I mean at this stage the disciplinary regulations in Gaelic football are almost descending into a farce, the whole system must be completely refined and the fundamental problem is with Gaelic football is the rules, they should be more clearly defined, there are two many grey areas which leads to different interpretations of the rules by different referees which can lead to frustration of players and mentors.

Ah Ciarrai Abu, I did'nt realise that match was covered in London. How did you see it, or are you doing you usual ranting and raving. I thought the genuine Kerry supporters on the kerry mesage board had shut you up. Well I suppose if you won't listen to your own county men criticising you - who will you listen to?

Dellboypolecat:

Would you ever learn to punctuate your sentences properly! Since you started posting on the board you haven't used one capital letter or one full stop. I'm not trying to be critical here but unfortunately the points you make sometimes are completely lost by the effort it takes to disseminate your sentences!

No bother Dellboy - you make good points but it's just a bit difficult at times! Keep the faith!

I don't know how gaa fan could say it was a dirty match in fact far from it given the conditions. The incident is different and distinct from the game.It doesn't look good for Noel McGinn, has apologised for his actions etc but a lengthy ban looks on the cards, also the Clonoe player, the redser will get a ban for his head the ball actions. But a dirty game it wasn't.

Sadly I feel I must comment on the disgraceful scene's at Omagh yesterday, Firstly the manager in question has not changed any from his playing day's in ANTRIM , and yes i said Antrim, this is how he would have introduced himself to other player's. Secondly can someone tell me why the umpire did not inform the referee of the incident and if he did why did the referee not act on it ?

Unfortunately there are disgraceful scenes in all counties. Let the Tyrone CCC deal with the incident appropriately. The sooner the thugs in all counties are removed the better. Great example to primary school pupils shown live on TV!!!

I thought the game was OK. I totally agree the incident was completely out of order and especially for a team manager. I think it was disgraceful and I would be surprised if the guy does not get an extremely long ban.

The game however was not dirty and even in extra time (after the incident) the players got on with it and played football. I thought it was a good game with some good players on both sides.

Great to see all the righteous indignation.... What county will it be next week? Its funny how a few other incidents were missed though.. There was another incident in that match where a player got a punch in the face out along the line but it went unseen... I think the victim was laid ot for a while as well but no sanction. In the Ballyhale v James Stephens game I definitely saw the Ballyhale No-- kick the JS -- when he was lying on the ground... There was a schimozzle in progress which the JS --- had instigated with a wild pull but what the defender did was reprehensible. He aimed a deliberate kick into ---neck as he lay on the ground and tried to kick him a second time but with less power than the first time... the camera did show it clearly and showed it again but there was no public outcry as there was re the Tyrone headbutters....

G.A.A_Fan if you think that was a dirty game off football then i can only assume you havent seen too many gaa matches, barring the already highlighted incident it was a hard game off football but i wouldnt say it was dirty

There was very little dirty play in that match. I dont know what some people are complaining about. You would get more blows trying to put a child back to bed,!!!
