Football Quarter Finals

(Oldest Posts First)

Derry V Clare
I think that this will be a lot closer than people think. I reckon Clare will give a good account of themselves and Derry will not have it all their own way. Derry by 4-5

Dublin V Cork
This is probably the most predictable game of them all. Dublin by at least 10

Galway V Armagh
The hardest one to call. Would tip Armagh but would not be one bit surprised if Galway win

Kerry V Mayo
Kerry red hot favourites but cant see any more than 2-3 points in this at the end. Kerry's records in Croker over the last 7-8 years is not great. Plus they have not played in 80 days. Not great preparation for Mayo. There is always at least one big game in Mayo every year so I hope that this is not it. Kerry to win (just)

I think we'll get the 4 provincial winners to reach the last 4.

Derry v Clare the way Rory Gallagher has his side set up it will be surprise if this isn't a routine win for Derry. Derry 1-15 Clare 0-13

Armagh v Galway two well matched sides of simliar styles. Armagh aren't as good defensively as some others in Div 1 which will help Galway get a long awaited knock out championship win Croke Park. If the weather allows expect a high scoring and entertaining encounter. Galway 2-16 Armagh 2-15

Cork v Dublin Cork was competitive with Kerry for 50 minutes lack of bench and fitness, conditioning was their downfall there and the same will likely happen in this match. Dublin 3-16 Cork 0-13

Kerry v Mayo. I expect this game to be closer to the league encounter in Tralee than the league final. The type of game whereby Mayo comes alive in and if they lose will die with their boots on. Kerry 1-12 Mayo 1-11.
