Ned Flynn - Westmeath And Midlands Radio 3 (MR3) - RIP

the voice of Ned will be missed by many around the midlands..from Offaly games MR3 go to Westmeath, where Ned mentions the large and the not so large little clubs in all codes and all levels, from Mullingar to to Castletowngeoghan and Castletown Finea, Brownstown, Delvin and St. Lomans and Cricklewood (pronounced wrong probably by me) etc...only he could report on them in such a way even though as an outsider you would not ever know about these clubs but regardless of competition, Ned was detailed in his commentary and reporting and the names would stick in your mind..Condolences to his family and colleagues in MR3, he will be missed from the Radio. I had the pleasure of the late Ned's company on many an occasion, to say he was some character would be a massive understatement without doubt the wittist man I've ever met. It was always a pleasure to drop in at Connie's in castlepollard to hear Ned in full flight behind the bar , a huge loss to Castletown/Finea and Pollard and to the Gaa family. Indeed. May he rest in peace. A lovely man with great yarns. A passion against Meath football and a unbelievable admiration for them as well. Very sorry to hear that news. Ned was a regular on Mids103 Sports coverage of Westmeath games, and a passionate supporter of The Lake County. My sympathy to his family. Would anybody here know what the supporters of that club would shout in support of their club during matches? The full title seems a bit long! Would it be simply "Come on Castletown?"
