Every single motion was passed this year. I wonder because of the covid was everything rushed through quickly.

The only thing i can think of here is the marketing end of it, pictures of one identifiable lad lifting the cup, vids of the speech etc, seems like this is a streamlining of all the media to me.

Replying To butterfly:  "In all honesty if Wexford won the All Ireland in the coming season, there is no way in hell anyone is going to stop Lee Chin & Matt O Hanlan lifting the trophy together. What will the Gaa do fine the county board? The most ridiculous GAA rule ever."
I will gladly pay that fine! :)

That's probably it. It is truly beyond me how this was important.

I'd love to hear another Lee Chin acceptance speech, his 1 from the leinster U21 final a few years back was pure gold.

I thought this was an April's fool joke..are there not more important things to have people worried?i see John horan wasn't happy with comments made by Michael duignan over finances..I see also where Larry mc carthy has gone against waiting for government go ahead,he wants a date to aim for, while horan was willing to let things trundle along.it looks as if a lot of people were on different wavelengths and then they decide 2 players will not lift a cup together..

Would not begrudge Wexford if not us. If the reward for their leadership and contribution to the game is to receive the cup nobody should begrudge them either. This is petty to say the least and if my county had any part in it I would be ashamed. To be sure there were enough votes to get it through but they will hide in the weeds. They should be made explain to their county and I don't believe for one second that there would be any support for it. It might seem not much to be getting worked up about but does it not show ambivalence to those that elect them ? Reminiscence of live in general today and culture of I will just represent myself.

Only one Hip allowed, presumably.

We're a great association for Bans!

I am not a fan of joint captains (at all at all at all!) but I still don't think it should be banned and certainly shouldn't be a motion at congress ....have we nothing else to be doing! Nearly up there with the motion to ban the "huddle" that appeared a few years ago (defeated thankfully).

When you think of all the hurdles that have to be jumped to get a motion on the floor of congress, and all the really important ones that were ruled out of order, because they didn't suit certain people, the mind boggles with these silly ones make it!

I think this whole thing is rubbish on the double. A load of rubbish having 2 captains in the first place, also a load of rubbish having rules in congress about not having two captains.

Whatever about 2 captains I think something should be done about the speechifying. How about speeches be limited to 30 words or less and should not contain...

Tá an-áthas orm an corn seo a ghlacadh
...oid loike ta tank...
..end dere's a man here t'day..
hip hip hooray

ideally would include
...and hard luck to a gallant Tipperary team...
