This is hilarious. Only about half the Galway team ever perform because they just don't have the players... Limerick didn't play well and the 3 points flattered Galway. Stop this sweeper rubbish and go toe to toe. 10 points from play... Not good enough. Stop whingeing about about slaps of hurls and red cards.

Thanks ACR. Good to see a person whose opinions reflect those of the vast majority of Galway sports people. The future must be good for Galway having Four minor All Irelands in a row.

Of course they were...they were flat to the mat and gassed out at the finish!! They had to empty the bench in pure panic to stumble over the line against a Galway team playing at 50%!

Next time Limerick may not even allow them that 50%,say well done Limerick with a little graciousness and show some sporting example, whingeing has never won a game and will never win a game but if you believe it will keep it up! They always empty the bench and they pulling away at the finish. The sides were level at 70 minutes and Limerick were three points ahead nine minutes later. There was only one team gassed out at the end and it certainly was not Limerick.

I think Galway of all counties know that minor All Ireland's don't bring Liam McCarthys...

Believe me Galway don't have any near the financial clout of limerick Wexford and tipp, our county board lost millions on mountain south. Donohue was being asked to run the team on a shoe string less than a quarter of the average top county team. He would have stayed but the county board did not want to spent the money required!

Aaron Gillane should also have got a straight red, the amadan, for tipping the Galway goalie. It is amazing he wasn't at least booked with two umpires right alongside him. He still hasn't got rid of that part of his game. A bit more maturity and he will as lethal as he is capable of. stpats1886 (Limerick) - Posts: 38 - 01/12/2020 05:25:24 2317219 Link 0 |
He did end up in hospital though!

No more than in the final of 2018, Limerick were much the better team for the majority of Sunday's match, and it would have been something of a travesty had Galway won in 2018 or on Sunday, not that I would have been complaining. I like what Shane O' Neill is doing with this Galway team, and I have no doubt that they will be there or there about for the next few years, but the years of one team dominating are long gone, and it will get harder and harder to win the Liam Mc Carthy every year. Yes Limerick look a seriously impressive side, but unlike when Kilkenny were in their pomp, there are plenty of other teams willing to challenge.

Agree. Hopefully he learns a lot from this year though ie leaving sweeper for full game v Limerick played right into their hand. Also goalie needs huge work on pock outs.

Absolutely dead right gilly even Jackie Tyrell is on record as saying that the championship is even harder to win now.

ACP. We in Limerick also know all about it with U21s early in this Century but as Cork, for years and even KK now are finding to some extent that if you are not winning them you are going nowhere.

There was no complaining in Waterford about cynical fouling, a player getting jabbing in the groin only genuine admiration for a great Limerick team. We have long ago learned that using crutches for not been good enough only inhibits your from getting better. Of course Limerick now will have a bulls eye on their back by us and everyone else and believe we can and will beat them. Unfortunately they will be subject to the pull them down brigade off the field like Kilkenny were and Dublin now also. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 2642 - 17/04/2021 14:36:18 2337508 Link 1 |
