Replying To DUBJOHN:  "Was just about to post that ! Dublin on a bad day would hammer either of these teams, we'll get the usual Meath aren't afraid of Dublin nonsense from certain posters on here!"
John can't see many countries been afraid of Dublin if they play like first 29 mins of this game tbh.

Replying To lilywhite1:  "Well done to Meath. Best team in the 2nd half. We were the architect of our own downfall for some of the second half goals.
Best wishes to Meath, royaldune and all Meath posters next week."
Thanks lilywhite and hard luck today, Kildare were comfortably the better team in the first half but for whatever reason just weren't able to press home in the second half.

After HT, we imporved defensively, got some good goals and I'm pleased with that but we do need to be sharper. We can't depend on getting goals when we fall 6 points behind, we won't beat div1 opposition under those circumstances.

Royaldunne there's 5 or 6 players playing for Dublin today that maybe won't start at the business end of the championship Leinster final included!

I was feeling bad at half time, Meath were performing worse than in any game since the intercounty season restarted and Kildare are the team I really hate losing to the most.
It was a strange game, the 2 goals at the start of the second half turned the game on its head.

He has hardly brought Armagh to the promised land now, has he?"
You'll find it's the Royal correspondent who keeps bringing Mc Geeney into posts when rambling on about Kildare. Simply telling him Mc Geeney wasn't as bad as he thinks. Is that ok with you.

And fair play to Cavan as well. Best of luck against Donegal.

Fair play to you RD

But are you not concerned how poor Kildare were today and yet were still easily good enough to really show this current Meath side in a very poor light

The goals dressed up a lot

I'd say there's a fair few junior b teams that would score more than 9 points over 70+ minutes!

A proper team would have destroyed that Meath side. The goals were well taken but 3 of them were from suicidal drunk junior C stuff from an inept kildare defence. The coaching staff who set that defence out should be ashamed of themselves. It's another annihilation that sets the county back even further.

Leinster football is in the toilet. Nothing against Meath here, I just hope they keep it within 20 points v the Dubs. Not that I'll be watching.

Especially in last 15 minutes of first half Kildare had us for the taking and Kirwan and Hyland were well on top of Lavin and McGill. O Connor said after game they expected Meath to come out fired up for second half, but instead of shutting up shop for first 15 min or so they left themselves wide open at back and for whatever reason decided the quick low ball into fullforwards that worked well in first half should now be ignored. Once we got the run on Kildare their old bad habits seemed to take over. Meath played well in second half but I think we were let off the hook today. Dubs looked their usual self today so next week will be some step up for us. Maybe record, it just in case.

Last time we scored 5-9 in a Leinster semi final. We won Leinster so I am not too concerned at all.
I'd more concentration on 5-8 from play.
