Merry Christmas to everyone. One of my favourite moments every year is the welcome home from the staff at Shannon airport. But this year I'll be coming through Dublin and I can't wait. The welcome home the pint of Guinness in its home town a pint in the foggy dew and to cap it off in the old reas near the station

I'll be in the Foggy Dew myself on the 23rd

Look out for the fella that looks like a cross between Bernard Brogan and 1970's Robert Redford

I'll buy you a Christmas pint

Happy Christmas RD & to all. A time to reflect on all the important things in life & to be thankful. Just as well I am not defined by my county's success as I reflect on the year or I would feel very unfulfilled!! The truly important thing to me is family & I am truly blessed to have a great family & for that I feel personally satisfied & comfortable in my own skin, no need for validation elsewhere. Remembering those who have passed & particularly those who have passed on the great heritage & passion that we have for the GAA. Looking forward to the 2020 season.

Don't worry about the sport side of things. Thats only a way to pass some time and have a laugh. It can give a lot of happiness when it goes well but that doesn't always happen.

It's just a bonus when it does and a chance to celebrate with friends and family is a gift to be very much appreciated and remembered.

From that I too know the importance of family and gratefully had the pleasure to celebrate with them, but its a distant second to other life changing events in 2019.

We have had a great experience this year becomig foster parents to a little girl and from that, now have the knowledge to assist further and are open to another wee one coming to live with us that could do with a bit of a hand. We were lucky to have our own but wanted to give this a try, I can say without reservation that it's the best decision we have ever made together.

It's a hugely rewarding experience and if it's something that has ever crossed any of your minds you should explore it.

It's changed our lives for the better and the reward is that it's doing the same for others.

A complete game changer.

It's not easy but very little that's truly worthwhile in life generally is and the benefits of it all doesn't stop at your front door.

So yes, Christmas is a time for family and remembering those that have come and gone.

But that doesn't mean you cant come on here to have a laugh and enjoy your counties efforts and perhaps in the process give a few others a wee bit of a laugh or something to debate.

I think you can be comfortable in your own skin, enjoy your family, think of those that have passed and still come on here to have a laugh and perhaps in doing so give someone a giggle yourself.

So Merry Chri5tma5 and a Happy New Year

Validation is for cars. Hoganstand is for a laugh.

I think it's a wee bit daft though when all you did was wish people well
