Replying To Sweetspot:  "We've a lot more underage success over the past 7/8 years to draw on than Roscommon and with all due respect, I don't think you've a player to lace the boots of Dan Flynn.
We are the thoroughbred county, don't forget."
Last 7/8 years we have won 6 underage provincial titles and reached 3 All Ireland finals losing two of them to star studded Dublin teams . We have plenty forwards of Flynns quality, what we lack is midfielders and strength in depth in defence.

BTW I don't agree with my fellow rossie as with Jack Ó Connor in charge I'll be shocked if kildare don't go all out with the aim for promotion.

Fair enough, Cork and Tipp on paper would be better than Laois,Westmeath i'd agree. Not so sure about Clare as Clare in league and championship nowadays would fancy themselves to beat both Tipp and Cork.

Relation between Westmeath,Laois, Clare and Kildare.

"Yeah cant train a donkey to win the derby"
Kildare might have a top class manager but i just dont think they have the players"
If Kildare were in Connacht they'd be beating Roscommon at their ease I think.

'We have plenty forwards of Flynns quality'

No, you don't. I don't want this to turn into another silly argument (there's too many of them already) but come on man, you really don't.

He is correct, we have plenty. Best advice i can give you is a little bit of research goes a long way and it also make one less foolish with comments.

Ah yes just like two Div 1 teams Galway and Mayo playing at home beat Roscommon at their ease this summer in Connacht. If you are to troll at least make a better effort.

Going to be a very tough division to get out of. Every team is going to be hitting the ground running to try get points on the board early and avoid the tier 2 football. Kildare and Armagh probably the favorites to go up. Fermanagh will be looking to build on a positive league last year and will be very hard to beat under Ricey. Cavan, like ourselves, usually bounce back straight away after relegation but I feel Roscommons fixtures, having to play the other 4 promotion contenders away from home will be too much. Hopefully we will have a full pool of players to choose from for the first time in awhile and make a push for it.

'Do as I say, not as I do' you seem to be strong on.
Time will tell if you're right of course. Roll on 2020.

In my opinion, there aren't "plenty" of forwards of Flynn's standard in the country, never mind in Roscommon. I have no doubt there's lots of talent in Roscommon and you'd be right to be ambitious about getting out of division 2, but there's about 4 other teams who share that ambition and the point about Flynn I feel still stands. He's the best forward in the division and for me still, Kildare and an other to go up.

The boost provided by Flynn's return is offset by the loss of Ben McCormack.

Are Kildare folk really trying to claim they've a better forward than Conor Cox in Daniel Flynn. Lets be realistic here people... Daniel Flynn on his day is top class but that's a rare occurrence and he's never fully delivered when it mattered. Cox has delivered on bigger days and i'd say Kerry are kicking themselves he's left the Kingdom.

Before anyone accuses me of bias or starts having a go off Meath or what would a Meath man know (cos its the norm for this type of stuff to descend into) I don't think Meath are any better or worse than either Kildare or Roscommon. Both teams should be looking for promotion from Division two as a minimum and Meath will be lucky to survive in Division One in 2020.

I would consider all three as being in that third tier of teams below
- Dublin (tier one)
- Kerry, Tyrone, Donegal, Mayo (tier two)
- Galway, Monaghan, Meath, Kildare and Roscommon (Tier Three)
- Cavan, Armagh, Laois, Cork, Westmeath, Clare and Tipp (Tier four)
- everyone else (Tier five)

Armagh have beat monaghan and kildare in recent years so hardly tier 4. I think championship they would prob beat Meath an all.
