The Fermanagh senior football and hurling squads have brought a halt to all activities following an outbreak of Covid-19.

Fermanagh county board released a statement this morning that all Gaelic games activity within the county will be suspended.

Ryan McMenamin’s senior football squad are due to play Clare and Laois in the Allianz League later this month before taking on Down in the Ulster SFC on November 8, with the Erne County’s hurlers preparing for Lory Meagher games against Louth and Cavan over the next five weeks.

"A number of players within the Fermanagh Senior Football Panel have returned positive tests for Covid 19.

"At this stage, we are following advice from the Public Health Agency on dealing with this matter.

"In order to prevent any further spread of this virus, and to protect the health of all those involved and the wider community, all collective activities involving the county's Senior Football, Senior Hurling and Minor Football panel are suspended until further notice.

"Our primary concern throughout this public health emergency has always been the health of our players, members and the wider community and it will remain so in the time ahead."

Fermanagh GAA have announced that all training and all games within the county have been suspended until further notice, at both club and county level, as a result of a spike in Covid-19 cases within the county.
