Three late frees from Colin Currie saw Na Fianna stun St Jude’s after extra time this evening and book a place in the semi-finals of the Dublin senior hurling championship.

It finished 0-26 to 0-23 at Parnell Park, where Dublin star Donal Burke hit 0-13 for the winners including what looked like the winner towards the end of normal time.

Burke’s strike had it at 0-18 to 0-17 before Danny Sutcliffe sent the game to extra time for St Jude’s whom would go on to lead by three at the halfway point of the extra periods.

Na Fianna dug their deepest down the home stretch however, hitting seven of the last eight points with Currie to the fore to advance to the semis.

In the later game at Parnell Park, Lucan Sarsfields were 1-20 to 1-16 winners over Craobh Chiarain.

The sides had been level with a quarter of an hour remaining before Sarsfields pulled two clear and Paul Crummey’s goal in the 55th minute would seal their place in the last four.
