so ballyvarley went up to div1 and bredagh 2nds entered div2.warrenpoint 1sts stay up. So if there is the same number of teams in the leagues apart from bredagh 2nds was there a bye round last year? Suas Sios (None) - Posts: 1558 - 07/04/2010 17:47:32 611045 Link 0 |

Castlewellan were strong last night and totally dominated the game. Bredagh have gone backwards since last year and seem to have lost a lot of there better players. Frank Mitchell (Down) - Posts: 1082 - 08/04/2010 11:35:59 611454 Link 0 |
The Clonduff/Point seconds game was abandoned after 10 minutes with scores 1 goal each. Ciaran McGuiness deemed pitch unplayable. Don't think there were too many arguments. St_Peters (Down) - Posts: 85 - 08/04/2010 11:57:29 611492 Link 0 |

Looken at the possibility of getting a Saul/Downpatrick team to enter the league in the next couple of years (2013). It will take a while to get everything together and I want to make sure we have a solid player base before even enter the league. Hurlen in Saul/Downpatrick has always had a descent interest so it would be good to reignite that passion for the sport again. I have talked to a few boys and there seems to be a genuine interest. Both Saul & Downpatrick used to have senior teams. saulgael (Down) - Posts: 553 - 09/04/2010 13:38:18 612785 Link 0 |
The current Saul manager used to hurl for Downpatrick I believe. Suas Sios (None) - Posts: 1558 - 09/04/2010 14:23:19 612835 Link 0 |
You should talk to Darragh Cross as well. There a few ex-hurlers still knocken about the Cross. There are also the O'Reilly's in Loughinisland. Seannie Og (Down) - Posts: 952 - 09/04/2010 14:50:21 612873 Link 0 |
If you want to get hurling goin round there its probably best to get underage teams fielding a.s.a.p. This will be an indication of future sustainability for the senior team. Suas Sios (None) - Posts: 1558 - 09/04/2010 15:36:07 612940 Link 0 |
Thought there used to be a few Saul lads hurled with Kilclief back in the day.. bricktop (Down) - Posts: 2503 - 09/04/2010 15:45:56 612956 Link 0 |
