Castlewellan were strong last night and totally dominated the game. Bredagh have gone backwards since last year and seem to have lost a lot of there better players.

Good win for Carryduff. I heard Hilltown was flooded so Clonduff v Point IIs didn't go ahead. Refixed for Monday night.

The Clonduff/Point seconds game was abandoned after 10 minutes with scores 1 goal each. Ciaran McGuiness deemed pitch unplayable. Don't think there were too many arguments.

Don't forget the Bredagh you are referring to Frank Mitchell is their seconds team. Their firsts drew with Ballygalget.
Castlewellan should win that Division fairly handy.

Looken at the possibility of getting a Saul/Downpatrick team to enter the league in the next couple of years (2013). It will take a while to get everything together and I want to make sure we have a solid player base before even enter the league. Hurlen in Saul/Downpatrick has always had a descent interest so it would be good to reignite that passion for the sport again. I have talked to a few boys and there seems to be a genuine interest. Both Saul & Downpatrick used to have senior teams.

The current Saul manager used to hurl for Downpatrick I believe.

You should talk to Darragh Cross as well. There a few ex-hurlers still knocken about the Cross. There are also the O'Reilly's in Loughinisland.

Good luck anyway.

If you want to get hurling goin round there its probably best to get underage teams fielding a.s.a.p. This will be an indication of future sustainability for the senior team.

Thought there used to be a few Saul lads hurled with Kilclief back in the day..

Wasn't there a few lads from Loughinisland and Drumaness used to play for Ballygalget?? A wee red head!!

Why not get in contact with that ever useful hurling board and the East Down board to try set up a regional team and even contact the local schools in Downpatrick to see who may have played schools hurling and maybe not followed up after that by playing for a club.

Best of luck.
