D_Dude, the winner of the qualifiers goes straight into the quarter finals with the seven first round winners.

Anyone else thing that the championship format is a little skewed. The quarter finals are gonna be held up for a few weeks until the qualifiers are played. The qualifier winner then has an advantage of more games played over that period of time. Some of the winning clubs will be sitting around for a few weeks doing nothing and could be caught on the hop.

cheers Biggar. If my memory serves me correctly castlerahan got the bye last year aswell and were also beaten in the next round of the qualifiers, but were exempt from the relegation playoffs which was completely unfair. Seems like CB have patched up this loophole now.

Castlerahan ARE safe!! They have a bye in the qualifiers which means that they are in the semi final of the qualifiers. There will be 3 teams in relegation battle, the losers of lacken/belturbet, ballinagh/knockbride and ramor/gowna or crosserlough. 1 of these three will be relegated.

well done to kingscourt on sat but i wouldnt rule castlerahan out yet they were missing a few through injury and i believe they have a few in america aswell.they might have a some of the injuries back for the qualifiers. it just shows how much they had missing on sat when 4 minors were playing for them

If Castlerahan lose the qualifier semi-final, they go into a relegation play off with the loser of the other semi-final and the loser from the play-offs between the qualifier first round losers. (The losers from game 2,3 and 4).

Its all a bit complicated in its simplicity, but I think I'm correct in my reasoning.

Killygarry ,Cavan gaels,Denn & (Belturbet/Kingscourt)

This will be the semis.

Could Killygarry beat the Gaels.I dont think Denn would, but if we could avoid them we d beat anybody else.

Well Denn Man you say you would beat anybody else. Well if you can't beat the best then you won't be the best. And as last years senior champions the Gaels are the team to beat!!!

Dinky,
Fintan Cahill, former county player is over Cuchulainns. They deserved to win on Sunday, even if it was only due to Ramor's lack of interest in the game! The minute Ray Cole was substituted --- had a free for all, and star Damien Barkey was left on the line!!! Mc Enroe was taken off and Adrian Cole moved out of position.....all played into the hands....or feet of Cuchulainns!! Heard the after party is still ongoing.........for both teams!! So, I guess this means neither are serious contenders for the Title this year!!!

Cailin Deas- you are right about Ramor's lack of tactical awareness-they handed the game to Cuchullains by the inexplicable changes they made. No wonder football in Cavan is going nowhere when players are still drinking on a Monday after a game- these two teams should have aspirations of challenging for championship honours-what is there to celebrate after a first round championship game??

Some people could do worse than to read an article in the Irish Indo on Saturday about Diarmuid O' Sullivan and Donal og Cusack and the Cloyne team-the night they won the All-Ireland a few years back-not one of them was drinking because they had a championship game the following weekend-thats committment!!

Scooby..... are we not entitled to air our opinions?? I saw Damien Barkey play lots, he is an outstanding back. So what if he didn't start a game all year for Ramor...I don't know because I don't go to Ramor away games...... Are you teling me that he wouldn't have made a difference? Or is it a case of ...Oh we didn't start him all year ...we can't start him today! Ramor could have won that game...seriously strange decisions made. Anyway, good luck to both teams in the qualifiers.

a good minor is not neccesarily good enough for senior. and anyway who of the full backline would you have swapped him for

Scooby......I certainly would not take it upon myself to say with any authority as I never managed a team, and appreciate the tough, thankless job it is....BUT.... he could have replaced any of them! Anything would have been worth a try to stop the Cuchulainns forwards running towards the Ramor goals! You seem a bit tetchy....you wouldn't happen to be a Ramor back by any chance??? I mean no disrespect to any of the Ramor backs...they tried their best , I'm sure, but Cuchulainns have some excellent firing power!! Cheers!

no definately not a ramor back.your prob right half backline was atrocious.and a few boys that needed to stand up an be counted were found wanting
