can anyone really see the gaels being beaten this year??
maby in a few years with the young teams coming through eg. ramor and crahan...no doubt that gowna have the strenght down the center but the gaels can use their wide men to great effect against them...

Any prices in any bookies? I fancy Gowna with Mc Keever and Mc Cabe fully focussed and out to prove a point.

Gowna are goin well dis year I tink dey will win the championship r b very close to winning it. The have only lost 2 games in all the league and challenges all year and that was to the Gaels and Fermanagh u21s. The played west Cavan Gaels last week and bet them by 8 points and were missing 8 of the starting team and all west Cavan were missing was eamon reilly but swad won't play wit them so I don't see them doing anything in the championship.

So here are this weekends championship matches
Predictions please

Killygarry v Denn - This should be a decent game. Depends how well denn marshall Mr Reilly & that they are disciplined in defence, as we saw from saturday he is very good at the frees. Think killygarry's better league run so far will stand to them and they should win by 3 points.

Mullahoran v Cavan Gaels - should be a tight game, gaels usually are slow starters to the championship. Not sure if gunner is back or not, anyone know if he will. I'll go for gaels by 2 points.

Castlerahan v Ramor Utd - Good game in prospect here. How far have castlerahan come under eammon barry & will they carry this form into the league. How bad is mackeys injury, could be key. Ramor are a decent all round hard working team with some good forwards. I'll go with ramor by 4 points.

Redhills v Drumbride - Drumbride is one team everyone is interested in, how will they gel, on paper it looks the ideal combo, one team with decent backs n midfield & the other with some decent forwards. Games are not won on paper as many a manager has realised to their despair. Hard to call. Think drumbride by 3 points.

Belturbet v West Cavan Gaels - Don't know who makes up west cavan gaels. Belturbet going strong in the league, jayo will be looking for a good performance to increase his chances off a start in the USFC semi. Belturbet by 6 points.

Lacken v Kingscourt - Good battle on the cards here. League performance is hard to gauge, kingscourt steaming away with div 2 & unbeaten so far, but have they been tested. Lacken after a shakey start have grabbed some vital wins, but have not been putting up big scores. I fancy the stars in this tie. Be a good competitive match, Kingscourt by 2 points.

Gowna v Cuchulainns - Cuchulainns have not been performing well in the league at all this year and i expect gowna to lay down their marker that they have some unfinished business to see too. Gowna by 8 points.

Crosserlough v Ballinagh - Crosserloughs season to date has been dreadfull for both teams in div 1 & 2. Confidence must be low, but that may be the factor which over the last few weeks that the management have used to spur on the team. They are a better team than their league points suggest, one or two good forwards & they would be challenging for semi final spots. Ballinagh are a useful team & will want to make more of an impact on the championship this year. Ballinagh to win by 4 points due to better forwards.

west cavan gaels=corlough, shannon gaels, kildallen and temple port. with da pick of over 70 players they will surely put a decent team out against the rories.

gaels bet mullahorn by 4 points in what was 1 of the worst matches in breffni in a long time........gaels should have been home and hosed at half time but couldnt score( apart from jelly ) then mullahorn kicked themselves out of it in the 2nd..... ( the highlight being eddie kickin a 14 yard free off de post )....... id say de gowna lads will be rubbin der hands after dis 1.....

i think these amalagamations are a joke, each club shud concentrate on their own team instead of four junior clubs trying to compete in a senior championship when clearly boxing above their weight, both amalagamations got well bet yesterday proving that two and four bad teams joined together is still a bad team,
