Leinster MFC 2020?

Just watched on TG4 the excellent Meath minor team trounce Dublin.Meath very skillful and impressive.Meath had fallen behind the likes of Dublin at underage. Is a lot of underage work now being done in Meath to produce a team of that quality.Goes to show that the narrative about indefinite Dublin dominance into the future might not be right.

Cheers Endgame. Think the issue is converting these minor teams into good u20 teams. Dublin seem to produce u20 teams that can beat Meath despite Meath having had the better team results wise 2/3 years previous at minor.

If they were to go on and win a Leinster then the county board must do everything in their power to keep them for under 20. Ronan Kerins and Joe Treanor were the managers of the under 17's in 00 and 01 and I don't think they've managed a Meath team since which makes no sense (unless they didn't want to do it again, in which case we should ask why)

There's a fair chance the minors will still be going on when the 20s champ starts so wouldn't be possible to manage both

I'd have thought there's a good chance they'd move the under 20's back a few months and play it in the summer like in 2018 and 2019. But it's all in the lap of the gods with this damn virus

sounds reasonable that they should stay on for the under 20's if successful

who are the selectors and clubs

Think Paul Nestor is involved and John's brother Justin. By the way, I wasn't saying that they should stay on for definite as there's a chance that maybe this Dub minor team isn't great, and the result did flatter us a bit, we were way on the back foot the first 20 mins. I was just saying that if we did go on to win a Leinster they'd have to be kept involved. Maybe not even next year, if Joe Treanor wanted the 20's next year he'd have a strong case having done it 3 years earlier at 17's level. But definitely, more continuation needed

Sign of good coaching to turn it round in second half thou.but to let them off for few years and someone else take them seems strange.let them finish out there underage spell.but then you have a set up there for 20s already so there not moving id say.

Great coaching for sure. We seem to have got the structures right and the right coaches in place across development squads.

Does anybody know with the new restrictions in place next week will this competition recommence? I see that elite sport behind closed doors is allowed, I think this included county minor last time, hopefully it does again

Lets hope it is allowed. These players deserve to be allowed to build on their win against the Dubs. We all know anything can happen as has been seen at this grade over the years but hopefully this competition will be played to completion.

Minors are playing Westmeath in Navan on Saturday week.

A big game. Beating the dubs in Leinster doesn't always result in a Leinster title.

Good news, hopefully the long break will have refocused the minds, need to push on from Dublin result.

I have been looking to see any confirmation that this might be streamed - nothing confirmed anywhere yet.

Surely it would be decided by now?
