Frayne seals Freshers title for Maynooth

A last minute point from Eoghan Frayne gave Maynooth University a dramatic win over UCC in the Electric Ireland HE Freshers Division 1 football league final at the Mardyke. The Summerhill star finished with 1-3.
Maynooth kicked the last three points to seal a memorable win.
The team was captained by Dunshaughlin’s Conor Gray, the midfielder making up for the disappointment of losing last Saturday’s Leinster Club IFC final at Wexford Park.
Frayne and Gray were joined by Ballivor’s Brian O’Halloran on the starting XV while Dunshaughlin’s Charlie O’Connor was introduced to the action in the second half.
