Offaly are expected to name their new senior football and hurling managers in the coming days.

Interviews with prospective candidates have been carried out in recent days with former Limerick, Laois and Tipperary manager Liam Kearns having emerged as the favourite to replace John Maughan as football supremo. Former Meath star Bernard Flynn has also been linked with the vacancy since Tomás Ó Sé opted out due to a work promotion. The Kerry legend was part of Maughan’s management team this year and was widely expected to assume the top job in 2023.

There is no clear favourite for the senior hurling post which was vacated by Michael Fennelly a fortnight ago with everyone from Davy Fitzgerald - who has been strongly linked with a return to the Waterford hotseat - to recently-departed Roscommon football manager Anthony Cunningham being mentioned as possible contenders.
