Tipperary hurling captain Noel McGrath has described his new role with the team as an honour and says he intends to lead by example on the pitch next season.

Last month saw new Premier County manager Liam Cahill announcing his panel for the forthcoming campaign and confirming McGrath as his skipper.

Speaking to TippFm Sport, the Loughmore-Castleiney forward outlined what his approach will be towards the new role within the team.

“Basically, lead by example and what you would normally do,” said McGrath.

“If anyone needs a helping hand or any questions that anyone has or anything that anyone needs you just help them along the way and you go out and perform and you train to the best of your ability, and every day when you go away from training you are preparing the best you can and doing all the right things.”
