Croke Park provided the setting for two one-sided All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals: Derry V Clare and Dublin V Cork.

The Oak Leaf County captured their eighth Ulster title and first since 1998 with brilliant victories over Tyrone, Monaghan and Donegal, while the Banner men had rebounded from their luckless Munster quarter-final penalty-shootout defeat to Limerick with back-door wins over Meath and Roscommon.

The Dubs, meanwhile, claimed a twelfth successive Delaney Cup by beating Wexford, Meath and Kildare in Leinster. The Rebels recovered from their Munster semi-final loss to Kerry by seeing off Louth and Limerick in the Qualifiers, but they were up against it in the lion's den today.
