Kilcoo successfully defended their Ulster club senior football championship crown when easily dispatching of Derrygonnelly this afternoon, 3-10 to 0-3.

Mickey Moran's men were at their ease throughout at the Athletic Grounds as the Fermanagh champions struggled to cope with their abundant pace and power.

They will now face Cork's St Finbarr's in the All-Ireland semi-final in two weeks' time after goals from Daryl Branagan, Ceilum Doherty and Shealan Johnston helped them to a 16-point win in the end.

1-5 to 0-2 at half-time, scores were very hard come by as Derrygonnelly flooded their defence, a long-range point from Ryan Jones for the Harps opened the scoring on 5 minutes.

Kilcoo hit the front for the first time in the contest when wing-back Miceal Rooney roamed forward to clip over the bar before goalkeeper Niall Kane and Paul Devlin followed up with frees for the Magpies to leave them 0-4 to 0-2 up.

With half-time looming, Derrygonnelly suffered a sucker-punch, as Branagan only had one thing on his mind, sending two defenders the wrong way and smashing the ball to the net.

Derrygonnelly threw caution to the wind on the resumption and pushed forward in an attempt to rescue the game but to no avail.

Devlin's fourth point stretched Kilcoo's lead out to eight (1-7 to 0-2) by the second water-break.

They were already home and hosed when Doherty and Johnston goaled on 55 and 58 minutes, respectively.
