A caller to Joe Duffy's Liveline is not a fan of Kerry players tattoos

A caller to Joe Duffy’s Liveline yesterday wasn’t impressed with what he saw on his TV screen during the recent Munster SFC final between Kerry and Cork.

The Kingdom made light work of their arch-rivals on the field but an annoyed Tom Corr made contact with Liveline to voice his opinion that the body art of some Kerry players are “bringing the GAA into disrepute” and said that the players in question looked like “gurriers”!

“I'm talking about the ugly tattoos on three of the Kerry players,” he started off,

“They're disgusting really, as far as I'm concerned anyway. Any right-minded person wouldn't agree with anybody wearing tattoos.”

He continued: “I think it's bringing the GAA into disrepute. It's giving the Kerry team a bad image, they don't look like footballers, they look like gurriers.

“I think the President of the GAA, Mr McCarthy, the Kerry manager, Mr Keane, and the Kerry County Board should step in now and do something about it.”.

Tom’s solution is that the players should wear long sleeves to cover up their ink…

“Put on the long sleeves and I’d be happy with that.”
