Cavan's Thomas Galligan and Tony Kelly Clare

The PwC GAA/GPA Player of the Month Award winners for November were announced today, with Cavan footballer Thomas Galligan and Clare hurler Tony Kelly rewarded for their outstanding performances during month.

Galligan was one of the Breffni County’s heroes as they beat Antrim, Down and Donegal in November, having already knocked out Monaghan on the last day of October, to win the Anglo Celt Cup for the first time since 1997.

Kelly was unstoppable for the Banner as they beat Laois and Wexford in the All-Ireland qualifiers and their journey only ended at the quarter-final stage when Waterford got the better of them. The Ballyea man scored from all distances and angles, both from play and with the dead ball.

Uachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, John Horan said; “Congratulations to our Player of the Month winners for November.

“Tony’s incredible skill level was on show in Clare’s run of games against Wexford, Laois and Waterford in recent weeks. He continues to be one of the game’s top players. Thomas was outstanding throughout Cavan’s campaign in claiming the Ulster Championship for the first time since 1997. We wish him and his team well in their upcoming All-Ireland semi-final.

“Congratulations to both players and my thanks on behalf of the GAA to PwC for their continued support in the promotion of our games.”

Speaking on behalf of the GPA, Chief Executive Paul Flynn added; “November was a busy month in hurling and football full of outstanding displays so it is a testament to Thomas and Tony that their contributions stood out and were recognised by their fellow players as winners of November’s PwC GAA/GPA Player of the Month Awards.”

The PwC GAA/GPA Player of the Month Awards are voted for by the GPA’s membership.
