Wexford GAA have nominated Derek Kent to run for GAA president at Congress next February.
The Leinster GAA chairman joins Tipperary's Ger Ryan in the race to succeed Jarlath Burns. A member of the Taghmon-Camross club, Kent was put forward for the GAA's top job at last night's county convention in Clayton White's Hotel.
A Wexford GAA statement read: "Derek Kent is now officially a candidate for Uachtarán of Cumann Luthcleas Gael.
"He was formally proposed by Tony Dempsey, seconded by Micheál Martin, with the unanimous support of Coiste Bainistí CLG Loch Garman. We wish him the very best.
"Derek has always shown great leadership and drive with both Wexford and Leinster, and he leaves a great legacy at county and provincial level. He would be a fitting choice to lead the Association through the years ahead. Go n-eirí an tádh leis!"
