Fourteen games in total went down for decision today, with key action in both the national football and hurling leagues.

The matches were spread throughout the afternoon, evening and into the night, commencing at 1pm in Newbridge, with the last throw-in scheduled for 7:30pm in Thurles.

Some of the football highlights included Tyrone against Donegal at Omagh in Division One North and the Tralee meeting of Kerry and Galway in Division One South of the new-look FL, while Division Two saw Mayo entertain Down (North) and Cork lock horns with Kildare (South) at Thurles.

In Division One of the hurling league, meanwhile, the second part of a tasty Semple Stadium double bill pitted Tipperary against Cork (Group A), while Laois had home advantage against Dublin in Group B.
