Christy Ring 2017 - 2 Like(s)

Replying To Wicklowman:  "Wicklow won't lie down you can be certain of that. Great spirit in that team. Now can you please shut the hell up about something that happened nearly a decade ago with the Wicklow FOOTBALLERS. This has nothing to do with our hurlers. Almost completely different clubs involved too. Put the hatchet down."
Wicklowman, I share your view, in fact I find the whole thing embarrassing to say the least, if you look at the forum you will see I don't post here that often. , and your right this thing has gone on far too long, you will also see that it's the same Carlow poster I'm sorry to say that brings it up , it's as if he's lurking there like a predator waiting for the opportune moment to pounce. Banter is a healthy thing in sport no doubt and sometimes the banter cut's a little deep and we all know that, but that's life. When some faceless poster comes on here in the so called name of Carlow football and brings up something that happened 10 years ago in a vindictive way he is not doing so on my behalf and I can safely say on any good Carlow person's behalf either The same poster conveniently forgets that it's not too long ago that a good Wicklow footballer made himself available for selection to county and club here in Carlow. He only pop's in here at a time when he see's an opening to get a cut at someone, he think's he's exciting the thread when in fact he's lowering the tone. Ignore him Wicklowman, he may not go away but who cares. He goes on to say, Wicklow behaved despicably and it won't be forgotten. Who cares about that either, he's on his own.

The greatest hurling shock of all time! - 1 Like(s)

Replying To niallpak:  "Seriously? Dublin ,who beat 3 in a row Leinster champions Wexford, beating Westmeath is more of a shock than Westmeath beating Kilkenny"
With respect, that 3 in a row Wexford team bared little resemblance to the Wexford team that Dublin beat last night, I thought after shipping a 0-16 defeat to limerick in last years all Ireland final they had a lot of team building to do.

Joe McDonagh Cup 2023 - 1 Like(s)

Replying To ITSCHOLAR:  "Great performance yesterday and will feel unlucky not to get the 2 points. Looks like the game vs lapis will be the big one for us although we did get a result v Offaly last year when needed. Not writing off down v us bit after the league game would expect 2 points. In my opinion the Joe mcdonagh is the best competition the gaa has just now majority of the games are crackers and teams have very little between them. We could have any 2 of Offaly laois Kerry or Carlow in the final. Really have to wonder how the gaa doesn't give the rights to tg4 to show these games really is a shame and would be a better watch than the puke football we see most weekends."
A good post.

All the best to the Carlow u/21 team tomorrow evening in NCP, man for man there's little between the two teams, so may the best team win.

Hurling: Carlow -32 And Waterford -39 - 1 Like(s)

Replying To blackspot91:  "If Carlow was in Munster their margin would be a lot worse and if Waterford was in Leinster they could well have gotten in top 3."
I haven't posted here in a very long time so with respect, If Carlow was in Munster they would have learned their trade well from constantly playing at the top level and who knows where that might have taken them.? If Waterford was in Leinster they would be caught up in the same scenario, possibly facing the same problems that Carlow are facing today. Continued success to Limerick and to Waterford

Hurlers 2016 - 1 Like(s)
Top hurling job for Martin Fogarty 29 June 2016 The role will involve working towards the delivery of the Hurling 2020 Committee report findings, a review of county games programmes for club players, and devising other activities and initiatives with the aim of maximising participation across all levels of the game. It will also include specific responsibility for the development of hurling in five counties (Westmeath, Carlow, Offaly, Laois and Antrim) and consideration of the restoration of a mentoring programme in designated counties. Can only be good for Carlow hurling.

Fairplayalways (Offaly) - Posts: 1030 - 01/08/2023 15:37:52 2498385 Fairplayalways {Offaly) Allow me to congratulate you on the all-inclusive wording of your post, it speaks volumes about you as a person and I don't even know you, however your username fits your picture in you being an Offaly man. This website as you put it was indeed a little insensitive to, not alone to Jimmy but to his family, Jimmy may have made a simple forgivable mistake which appeared to plague him from there on in, he is still waiting for the apology from the gaa that he never got. Perhaps some one closer to Jimmy might post a more appropriate picture. Rest in peace forever Jimmy Cooney. Hearth felt sympathy to your Family and friends. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam dilis.

Can the GAA survive the Rugby onslaught - 1 Like(s)
The word onslaught is a bit ott, there is no threat to gaelic games from any sport, but in my opinion if there is a threat to gaelic games it will come from within.
