Meath ladies wore t-shirts in the warm-up to their Lidl NFL Division 2 semi-final victory against Cavan yesterday, showing support for dual players.
The Royals sent a strong message 'Supporting Dual Players' after one of their own Megan Thynne was forced into a difficult dilemma whether to opt for football or give her allegiance to the county camogie team who were also in National League Division 2 semi-final action around the same time. But the Dunsany-Kilmessan player was keen to be involved on both fronts.
With the ladies game against Cavan starting at 1pm in Kingspan Breffni, Thynne played the first-half of the 0-13 to 0-8 win before being driven by her father Andy to Inniskeen for the second-half of Meath's camogie clash with Antrim which started at 2pm. Unfortunately for the dual star, the Royals suffered a narrow 1-8 to 0-12 defeat to the Saffrons.
