Pitch-perfect Páirc Uí Chaoimh

In the same week as it hosted its first-ever rugby match, Páirc Uí Chaoimh has been named GAA 'Pitch of the Year'.
With five GAA grounds making the final, the assessment carried out by the GAA National Pitch Workgroup last month was based on the three elements of 'pitch quality', 'environmental conditions and usage' and 'resources and management.'
The ground staff at the Cork stadium are led by head groundsman Colm Daly.
On Thursday night, Munster defeated a South Africa Select XV 28-14 in front of a sell-out attendance of 41,400 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
The famous venue will also host this evening's televised Munster club SFC quarter-final clash between Nemo Rangers and Clonmel Commercials.
