Cork hurling boss Kieran Kingston has overhauled his backroom team in the wake of this year's All-Ireland SHC final loss to Limerick.

Highly-rated performance coach Gary Keegan has returned to the set-up after previously working under Kingston during his first spell as manager and John Meyler. Keegan was also involved with the Dublin footballers during Jim Gavin's reign and is currently working with Irish Rugby.

Along with Keegan, 2021 All-Ireland MHC winning manager Noel Furlong and 2005 All-Star and All-Ireland SHC winner Pat Mulcahy have come on board as selectors following Ger Cunningham's decision to stand down. Christy O'Connor has also stepped down as goalkeeping coach.

Diarmuid 'The Rock' O’Sullivan will continue as a selector with Donal O’Grady remaining in his role in coaching and analysis, Stephen Casey, meanwhile, will act as strength and conditioning coach.

The new management set-up will be ratified at a county board meeting tonight.
