Jack Leahy helped himself to 3-9 as Cork crushed Clare by 40 points in the Munster minor hurling championship this evening.

The Semple Stadium scoreboard read Cork 6-28, Clare 0-6 at the full-time whistle.

Terence Chaplin's charges were very much still in the hunt after 20 minutes, trailing 0-7 to 0-3, but were completely outclassed thereafter by the Rebels with Leahy blasting home two goals to fire his side into a 2-9 to 0-5 half-time lead.

The Dungourney clubman wrapped up his hat-trick in the first minute of the second-half.

Adam Walsh (2) and Ross O'Sullivan were the other Cork goalscorers.

Tipperary join Cork in the semi-finals in two weeks' time thanks to a comfortable victory over Kerry, 2-27 to 1-14.

Darragh Guinan scored both of the Tipp goals at the LIT Gaelic Grounds.

In the Leinster minor hurling championship quarter-finals, Wexford finished strongly against Kildare at St Conleth's Park to recorded a 2-18 to 3-10 win.

Kildare looked good to do the double over the Model County in Newbridge after their stunning U20 victory there last week, when leading 1-6 to 1-5 at the break.

But Wexford knuckled down and outscored the hosts 1-8 to 1-3 in the last 20 minutes with Simon Roche grabbing a crucial late goal.

Their semi-final opponents Dublin were far too good for neighbours Meath at Pairc Tailteann where it finished 4-18 to 1-6.

A Joey Ennis goal had Meath 1-2 to 0-3 in front during the early stages before the Dubs scored 1-6 without reply to forge seven clear by half-time.
