Junior Championship

Assuming Templeport come through the back door (which I think they will) I see them being hard stopped. Winning and momentum is key at this time off year. 3 week break might not suit the other teams.. I'd have cornafaen next then mountnugent. By all accounts could have won the week before down to 13 men in the 2nd half.. Kill haven't really been tested since the munterconnaght match which will have been a long time ago when the semi's come around.. The semi final draw will play a big part in who wins it out .. If templeport and cornafaen meet in a semi it's all wide open again..

Down to the last 4 in this group now.

Templeport will be strong after winning their last couple of games.

I predict an upset in the other semi final.

So im going to go with a Templeport v Kill final.

Any else think im mad or what do yas reckon??

I think that Kill should be the team to beat and ultimately will go on to win it out!

Agree with you Reformation!

Very very unfair what has been done to them & Cornafean.

County board need to look at themselves fixing a junior semi final for friday night & only giving clubs 4 days notice.

Lads have to get home from work, some travelling from Dublin to play on a Friday evening. Its shocking that they have it on Friday, why not Sunday afternoon in the slot between the Ballinagh match and the Ramor match? If it was their own clubs they wouldn't allow it

Not only travelling but some lads are getting up at 4 o clock to go to work, then to do a hard days work & then play a semi final, its absolutely ridiculous. Not only lads travelling from Dublin. Lads travelling from Galway, Cork etc. Even London lads working over there & getting a flight home friday night or saturday & then they find out their semi final is on friday night. Why the hell not play it as a double header like it is done every other year. The Ballinagh game could be at 5.30 before Ramor game. No wonder Cavan football is the way it is when you have these people organising fixtures.

A championship semi final should be a big game for any club and fixing it for a Friday night is wrong. I don't know who runs the show at the CCC but whoever they are they need to a good hard look at themselves.

It would be good to see the Reds win this championship. They have a great history within cavan football and have some great club men !

Having been at the game last night i thought The county board had poorly set up the semi final. Refereeing was good however the two linesmen and umpires were poor as several of there decisions were overturned and some were incorrect. There was no one collecting the balls behind the goals leaving the keepers to go fetch them. In my opinion the county board have no consideration or respect for Junior Football. If this was a Senior Semi-Final it would have been a better set up I would say it would have better officials and a proper set-up in place.

Cornafean are going to win this JFC. They looked very good last night even in atrocious conditions for football, had that game being played on a dry field under the sun the Reds would have won by 30 points. What has happened to Kill? Did they lose their 2013 team to emigration or something? They were beyond woeful last night.

Reds v Templeport final I reckon with the Reds winning it.

When did it become the responsibility of the county board to supply ball boy's. I have seen goal keepers kick footballs out of the stadium and no one does anything about it. The umpires have their own job to do and it's not their responsibility, There is no problem if either of the clubs want balls returned for the goalkeeper just put one ball boy just outside the railing for health and safety reasons and he can jump in and collect the ball and roll it towards the goal. How easy is that. Just watch the time wasters they will not be happy if you are returning the balls to quick ??????????????????????

The referee, not the co board appoints the umpires (usually just any 4 lads he can get to go to the game with him), and it's the same for all grades including intercounty. Maybe all referees should have to have a panel of 6 umpires that they use on a regular basis and these umpires should get some basic training. Also, I was at a good few games this year in Breffni in both intermediate and senior and I haven't seen anyone except someone from either team collecting balls behind the goals, usually the team that's losing

Sean what would be the point in a club putting in a ball boy if he has to stay outside the fence. That surely defeats the purpose.
Fair play to Cornafean on winning well last night before a reasonable crowd on such a bad night.Kill weren't at the races at all and the reds will face a stiffer challenge on final day. Nice to see them back in the final as they are very passionate football supporters.

I don't be on often so just noticed your reply. The reason why I said stay outside the fence is because of health and safety reason's. The gate would be open if he she wanted to enter to retrieve the ball. If management were really struggling and loosing they should make every effort to make sure there are plenty balls there at all time's. Only one ball is required in the field of play you can have any amount at hand for the goal keeper to kick out. Might be no harm either to make sure all the footballs are hard enough so goalkeepers or players cannot waste time saying the ball is soft. Just observations it's up to the teams. Sean

Looking forward to a good match with Cornafean and Templeport. Hard to call it but both teams will be up for it. Great day for a final.
