The late Mary Brady,
Cornafean lost one of its oldest residents last week with the death of Mrs Mary Brady Cloncose. Aged 93 years she had been in failing health for some time and spent the last few years of her life with her daughter Maura Mangan in Oldcastle where she died peacefully on Monday 28th October.
She was born Mary McMahon in Oram, Castleblayney and married her late husband Tommy Brady 70 years ago. See was a widow for 26 years.
Mary was a friendly, kind generous person who loved sport. She rarely missed a game Cornafean were involved in especially Camogie when her daughters Maura and Rita were playing. She was a woman of deep faith and a lifelong pioneer. She was an excellent cook and loved baking, her door was always open to visitors. Her hobbies included card playing and in later years she was an ardent Bingo player.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters Maura and Rita, sons-in-law Eamon and Liam, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law and her extended family circle. Her con celebrated funeral mass was in the church of the Immaculate Conception Coronea on Wednesday 30th with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Rev John Phair P.P. was the chief celebrant. "May the sod rest lightly on her Grave"

Death of Paddy Smith,
Sincere sympathy is extended to Kathleen Smith and family Quivy, on the recent passing of her brother Paddy Smith, Tallaght, Dublin and formally of the Rocks, Crossdoney.  He will also be sadly missed by his own loving daughters Karen and Sandra and their extended family. His funeral service was on Wednesday last week with cremation afterwards. May he rest in peace.

Death of Bonney Drumm,
Sincere sympathy is extended to the nieces, relations and friends of the late Bonney Drumm,  Drumcarey who died recently. Her funeral Mass was in Coronea Church, with burial in the family plot in Loughduff Cemetery.

Death of Sean Donohoe, Gortermone, Carrigallen.
We extend the sincere sympathies of the community to Caroline Burns, Drumbess on the recent death of her brother Sean Donohoe in Sydney, Australia following a short illness.  Sean, formerly of Bridge House, Gortermone, Carrigallen was predeceased by his parents Pauline and Frank and will be sadly missed by his wife Amanda, brothers Peter, Oliver and Declan, his sisters Veronica, Alice, Caroline and Paula, brothers in law Paul and Pat, Drumbess, sisters in law, the wider family circle and many friends.  Sean's funeral mass took place on Friday 27th September in St. Charles Church, Sydney.  His ashses will be interred with his parents after memorial mass in St. Mary's Church, Carrigallen on this Saturday 9th November at 12 p.m.  May Sean rest in peace.

Fundraiser Cuan Cancercare & Oncology Unit, Cavan General Hospital
Marie Goodison will host a coffee morning on Saturday 9th November from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in McSeains Lounge, Cornafean in aid of the Oncology Unit, Cavan General Hospital and Cuan Cancercare.  Please come along and support these worthy causes.

Cornafean Ladies GFC Fundraiser
The Cornafean Ladies Club will host a Table Quiz on Friday 15th November in McSeains, Cornafean.  Your support would be greatly appreciated.


Scór na nÓg: Cornafean will be in Ballyjamesuff  on Saturday November 23rd at 3pm and rehearsals are under way in most disciplines.  Table quiz takes place on 5th December, places still available on team, contact Marie on 0879435933
