The group stage of a truncated 2021 national football league reached a dramatic conclusion today, with eight vital matches going down for decision.

In Division One South, with Donegal and Tyrone awaiting in the semi-finals, holders Kerry and All-Ireland champions Dublin took to the road to face Roscommon and Galway respectively.

There was a full programme of games in Division Two: in the North section, semi-final bound Mayo and Meath faced one another at Castlebar while Westmeath hosted Down. There was more to play for in Division Two South, where Clare entertained Cork in a mouth-watering all-Munster clash and Kildare travelled to Portlaoise to face Laois.

In Division Four North, Louth and Sligo collided for the right to take on Carlow in the last four, while the meeting of Antrim and Leitrim was a dead rubber, the Saffrons having already secured a top-place finish and a semi-final date with Waterford.

Meanwhile, the rearranged national hurling league Division One Group B clash of Kilkenny and Wexford at Nowlan Park also went ahead this afternoon, while Monaghan and Armagh faced off in Division 3A.
