Naas coasted past Blessington with a 4-11 to 1-7 victory in Newbridge this afternoon to seal a place in the Leinster club SFC semi-finals.

Luke Griffin’s 10th minute goal put the Kildare champions on the path to victory in this provincial quarter-final tie billed as a derby with just 15 kilometres separating the two areas on the map.

Veteran Eamonn Callaghan and Griffin stretched the Naas lead before a Kevin Quinn goal on the stroke of half-time gave the Wicklow champions some hope, leaving it at 1-7 to 1-2 when the teams went in at the break.

Brian Kane hit the Blessington net within 30 seconds of the restart and it went from bad to worse for the visitors some six minutes later when Griffin grabbed his second major of the afternoon.

Darragh Kirwan struck goal number four for the winners with 10 minutes to go and they now look forward to a Leinster semi-final date in Croke Park against Shelmaliers of Wexford in two weeks’ time.
