Kenmare Shamrocks sprung a surprise on Dr Crokes to seal their first Kerry club SFC final berth thanks to a 67th minute Sean O'Shea free.

The hosts came from six points down at half time (1-8 to 0-5) to claim a memorable 2-12 to 1-14 victory yesterday evening with Kerry marksman O'Shea stepping up to snatch it right at the death. Dan McCarthy's tally of 1-4 was a key factor in the turnaround.

With three minutes of normal time remaining, Crokes held a three point cushion before points from Shamrocks goalscorer Paul O’Connor and O’Shea (2) drew their side level.

A draw would have been enough for Crokes to progress to the decider but instead they lost out in the dying seconds of injury time.

Shamrocks will play Austin Stacks in the final after the holders defeated 13-man Killarney Legion 2-13 to 0-8 this afternoon to edge ahead of Dingle on points difference.
