Kildare manager David Herity may have pre-Christmas blues following his charge’s second defeat in the Kehoe Cup.

The Lilywhites lost their opening Kehoe Cup game to Offaly, which to be fair was to be expected, but they followed that up with a defeat to Down last weekend and the former Kilkenny goalkeeper is less than pleased by the performance.

Speaking to the Leinster Leader, Herity was critical of his players in the aftermath of the defeat to the Mourne men.

“We gave away 15 frees, they converted 13 of them and hit the post from another, that comes down to heart,” said Herity.

“You have to play with bloody heart and skill as well, going out and doing your own work.”

Kildare won’t have anymore competitive games before the start of the HL campaign which sees them take on London in their opening Division 2B game.
