Enda McGinley has stepped down from his role as Antrim senior football manager after two years in charge.

The three-time Tyrone All-Ireland winner led the Saffrons to promotion from Division 4 of the Allianz League in his first year at the helm and they retained Division 3 status this season but were comprehensively beaten by Cavan in their Ulster SFC quarter-final clash at Corrigan Park.

McGinley's reign ended with a 2-14 to 1-12 Tailteann Cup defeat to Leitrim in Carrick-on-Shannon yesterday.

In a statement this afternooon, Antrim GAA thanked the Errigal Ciaran clubman for his efforts.

"The Antrim County Board can announce that Enda McGinley has stepped down as manager of our Senior Football team," it reads.

"During Enda’s tenure our Senior footballers have both gained promotion to Division 3 and retained their Division 3 status for 2023.

"We would like to sincerely thank Enda, Stephen O’Neill, Sean Kelly, Stephen Quinn and all the backroom team for their efforts and we wish them all the best of luck for the future.

"Míle buíochas a Éanna agus a foireann, ádh mór oraibh."
