Rathnew manager Harry Murphy has called on the club's supporters to get behind the team for Sunday's county SFC final against Blessington.

Seeking their fourth title in five years, Rathnew have become accustomed to reaching this stage of the SFC and thus the supporters take their final appearance slightly for granted.

Murphy stressed to the Wicklow People that they will need the supporters in full voice for this weekend's decider.

"It should be a great occasion. We'd hope to get a big crowd behind us because we're going to need every man, woman and child in Aughrim to give us a dig out," said Murphy. "Blessington are going to go down in big numbers."

He added: "We're delighted with ourselves. A final is a final. We got beaten in the quarterfinal stage last year so we owed it to ourselves to get back to Aughrim and now we've got to the final this year and the lads have come up trumps."
