U12 girls Blue Team – U12 Girls Blue Team booked their place in the A Semi Final on Thurs 31 Aug after a hard-earned win at home against Baltinglass. With a shaky first half trailing by a point at halftime our girls had a good pep talk and brought it back up a gear with a fine second half display all round. The work rate and never die attitude of these young girls is so rewarding to watch they are a credit to themselves and us. A winning margin of 12 points was the result. Score 5-8 to 3-2....so many great players in the second half but the on the whole game we had to give joint players of the match to Elaine O'Dwyer and Aisling Brennan. Scorers: Sadhbh Fisher 4-4, Holly Moody 1-2, Juliette Gough 0-2. Super stuff girls roll on the Semi v Bray at home Tue 12 Sep.

U12 girls White Team - Our U12 Girls White Team remained unbeaten last night with a third win in a row in the C Championship! The girls are playing out of their skin...we travelled to Kilcoole for and had our toughest opposition to date. Losing by two points at halftime the Blesso girls owned the second half & put in hard grafted 25 mins to come out winners with a score line of 5-8 to 3-2. Player Of the match Emily O'Rourke was outstanding and kept their danger players out of the game in the second half. Scorers -  Robyn Brennan 2-2, Jane Johnston 1-2, Ava O'Driscoll 1-2, Ella Richardson 1-1, Michaela Garvey 0-1.

With 3 wins from 3 and only one group game remaining our girls are sure of a top two slot for Finals Day on Sun 17th Sept. Our U12 girls had a fantastic day out in Clara Lara on Aug 28. Great weather, great behaviour and great fun. Lovely memories made with their coaches & team mates.

U11 girls - Well done to our U11 girls this morning in their first Autumn Kildare League match with a big home win against Moorefield. Great display of football. Player of the match Aoife Cullen had a super game.  Scorers: Robyn Brennan 4-3 Aisling Brennan 3-2 Ava O'Driscoll 1-2 Leila Shannon 1-0 Susie Cronin Caoimhe Gilligan and Ava Jordan Dempsey 0-1 each.

Scor na nOg – Blessington GAA will proudly host the Scor na nOg on Fri 20 Oct. Scór is a GAA competition that combines all the colour and rivalry of Gaelic Games with the social/fun element of Ireland's traditional past-times. The competition was established by the GAA in 1969 with the aim of promoting Ireland's traditional pastimes and culture while offering club members the chance to meet up, have fun and represent their club during the winter months while Football and Hurling had ceased. There are eight events/disciplines in Scór that cover all aspects of Irish culture:  Figure/Céilí Dancing, Solo Singing, Ballad Group, Recitation/Scéalaíocht, Léiriú Stáitse/Stage Presentation, Instrumental Music, Set Dancing and Table Quiz. The competition is divided into two age levels, Scór na nÓg, for young people under 17 and Scór Sinsir, for those over 17.
