U16 Championship
St Lomans 1-13 The Downs 5-10.
It was not to be for our gallant U16s in Killucan on Saturday when they were beaten in the county semi-final by neighbours The Downs after extra time. The boys worked tireously in the first half when they had the wind and the slope to content with trailing only by five points at half time. The boys played manfully in the second half and led by three points before a late goal brought the Downs back in to it. The Downs won after extra time.
The players showed great heart and ability to stick in there. There were plenty of times it looked like they had done enough and they sure put everyone through the ringer with two extra time games in succession!
Minor Girls
Well done to our minor girls who are through to the final of the championship after a comprehensive win against Kilbeggan on Friday night last.
