U16 Championship

MAW 6-9 Tyrellspass 1-9

With an almost full squad to choose from for the first time in a long time,the boys put in their best performance of the year.The ever improving Oisin Murray was rarely troubled in goal and only a late penalty deprived him of a clean sheet.In the half back line Troy Bradley,in particular,was prominent.Up front Conor Bracken with 3-2 and Paul Heffernan with 1-3 all from play were in fine form with Fiachra Cunningham showing a great range of passing and support play.There were further strong contributions from substitutes Rhys Rowlands,Toby Conte and Oisin Johnstone.Panel;O Murray,C Digan,J Malone,T Bradley,D Grenham,J Simpson,G Cunningham,P King,P Heffernan,F Cunningham,L Gavin,D Nulty,C Bracken,R Rowlands,O Johnstone,T Conte,R Jones,E Curran

 

Under 14 Championship

Moate under 14 team played 2 championship games in the last week.

On Thursday last Moate travelled to Mount Temple to play Caulry, playing with the the wind Moate built a 6 point halftime lead. Caulry clawed back the deficit in the second half despite some fine defending and the game finished in a draw.

Last Sunday Moate played Rosemount/Castledaly on a wet morning in Hogan Park. This was a very exciting game which saw the visitors leave with a 3 point win with the home side disappointed that a late goal was disallowed.
